Description
Rohani Barb (Puntius rohani), also known as Rohan's barb, are a small species of freshwater fish found in South Asia. Here are some key points about Rohini barbs:

These barbs are relatively small, typically reaching about 5-6 cm (2-2.4 inches) in length.

Native to rivers and streams in Sri Lanka and parts of southern India.

Prefer clear, slow-moving waters with plenty of aquatic vegetation. They thrive in environments with a sandy or gravel substrate.

Omnivorous, feeding on a variety of foods including insects, small crustaceans, plant matter, and algae. In an aquarium, they can be fed flake foods, small pellets, and live or frozen foods.

Rohini barbs are schooling fish and should be kept in groups of at least six to display their natural behavior and reduce stress. They are generally peaceful but can sometimes be fin-nippers.

A well-planted tank with plenty of swimming space and hiding spots is ideal. They prefer slightly acidic to neutral water (pH 6.5-7.5) and a temperature range of 22-26°C (72-79°F).

Suitable tank mates include other small, peaceful fish such as tetras, rasboras, and other barb species.
