Green Bichir
Description
Add a prehistoric touch to your aquarium with the Green Bichir. Known for its elongated body, armour-like scales and characteristic row of dorsal finlets, the bichir is one of the most unusual freshwater fish available to experienced aquarists.
Green Bichirs are primarily bottom-dwelling and are most active during the evening and night. They are hardy fish when provided with stable water conditions and plenty of swimming and resting space. Like other bichirs, they can breathe atmospheric air and will regularly come to the surface.
Their predatory nature means they should be housed with appropriately sized tank mates. Small fish and other aquatic animals that can fit into their mouth may be viewed as prey.
