In the wild, Green Senegal Bichirs inhabit slow-moving rivers, swamps, and floodplains. To replicate their natural habitat, a well-maintained aquarium with a minimum capacity of 50 gallons (189 liters) is necessary. They appreciate a substrate of soft sand or fine gravel, along with hiding spots such as caves, driftwood, or rock formations. Providing a tight-fitting lid is essential to prevent their potential escape.
