Dream Blue Shrimps are vibrant, hardy freshwater shrimp that add a stunning pop of blue to any aquarium. They help keep tanks clean by grazing on algae and are perfect for both beginners and planted tanks.
Vibrant, striking colour
The deep blue shade is eye-catching and contrasts nicely with plants, darker substrates, wood, etc. For aquascapes or planted tanks, they add a “pop” of colour.
Hardy & adaptable
Compared to more delicate shrimp (e.g. many Caridina varieties), Neocaridina types like these tend to tolerate wider ranges of temperature, pH, hardness etc. If water conditions are stable, they do well.
Natural cleaners
They graze on algae, biofilm, detritus, leftover food. They don’t replace filtration, but they help reduce buildup and keep the tank cleaner.
Low to moderate maintenance
As long as the tank is cycled, water parameters are kept reasonably stable, regular partial water changes are done, these shrimps do not demand excessive special care.
Good breeders
They breed readily in freshwater, given hiding places, a healthy environment, etc. So you can build up a colony over time.
Peaceful / community friendly
They’re peaceful shrimp. If you choose tank mates carefully (non-predatory small fish, plenty of plants or mosses for hiding), they fit well in many community aquaria.
