Blue Pet XF‑2834 Air Stone Filter is a basic but effective air-powered sponge filter that helps keep aquarium water clearer and healthier by filtering debris and supporting beneficial bacteria.

What It Is?

A sponge filter that cleans aquarium water by pulling it through a porous foam sponge.

Works with an external air pump (sold separately) that pushes air into the filter — causing water to flow through the sponge.

Provides two types of filtration:

Mechanical — traps debris and particles.

Biological — beneficial bacteria grow on the sponge to break down harmful ammonia and nitrites.

How to Set It Up & Use?

Prepare the Sponge Filter

Rinse the sponge with aquarium water before placing it in the tank (don’t use tap water as it can kill beneficial bacteria).

Install in the Tank

Place the filter inside the aquarium, fully submerged.

Ensure it sits steadily on the bottom.

Connect to an Air Pump

Attach one end of the air tubing to your external air pump.

Connect the other end to the nozzle on the sponge filter.

Turn on the air pump — air rising through the filter pulls water through the sponge.

Operation

Water is drawn through the sponge into the rising air column.

Debris gets trapped and beneficial bacteria grow in the sponge, helping maintain clean water.

Maintenance

Rinse the sponge in drained aquarium water periodically (not tap) when you notice slower flow or clogging.
