Description
Bloody Mary Shrimp are a popular freshwater dwarf shrimp species prized for their deep red coloration, even more vibrant than Cherry or Fire Red shrimp. They're excellent for planted tanks and easy to care for, making them ideal for both beginners and experienced aquarists.
Substrate: Inert (e.g. sand, gravel) or shrimp-specific active substrates
Plants: Mosses (Java Moss, Christmas Moss), Anubias, Bucephalandra
Hiding Spots: Rocks, driftwood, shrimp caves
Lighting: Moderate; avoid strong direct lighting
Filtration: Gentle (sponge filter is best)
Algae and biofilm are their primary natural food
