The Neon Goby is a little goby with prominent blue lines running through its body.

This fish’s iridescent blue stripes on the top and bottom make it a welcome addition to any vibrant reef tank.

The Neon Goby is a good starter fish. While it does not have a long lifespan, it is a very hardy fish that is easy to breed.

II. You would love the fish because…

This species, often known as the Blue Neon Goby, is distinguished by a brilliant blue stripe down its side. The rest of this long-bodied fish is a dark brown to black with a whitish ventrum.

The neon goby resembles the Broadstripe Goby (Elacatinus prochilos) and Sharknose Goby in colour (Elacatinus evelynae). They have a body form that is quite similar to the Yellowline Goby (Elacatinus figaro), and they have been mated together to produce gobies with a yellow to blue stripe.

The Electric Blue Neon Dwarf Goby (Stiphodon atropurpureus), a freshwater fish native to Asia, might be confused with the Neon Goby.

Stiphodon Gobies are lovely, friendly fish that have adapted to an amphidromous lifestyle.

NOTE: Gobies are superb climbers and can readily escape from any aquarium with a loose-fitting top. You’ll be glad you did if you keep it tight.
