Fromia’s Crimson Sea Star, often known as a Red Starfish, comes in a variety of red hues.

The surface of the red sea star is covered in many black pores (dots) and the tips of the arms of the red & black sea star are black.

It usually lives alone, though it will accept other members of its own species if the aquarium is big enough to accommodate more than one. It needs an established tank with algae and is typically able to survive quite independently in the aquarium, finding enough microorganisms and waste to scavenge if the live rock is available. It is diurnal.

The Red Sea Star is extremely sensitive to abrupt changes in water pH, salinity, and oxygen content. It also has a very low tolerance for drugs containing copper. All Sea Stars should be acclimated via the drip method due to their intolerance of alterations in water chemistry. It should never be handled with the air-exposed.

Because it lacks any distinguishing traits from its mate, the Red Sea Star is very challenging to breed in an aquarium.

Flaked meals and tiny pieces of fish or mussels should be added to the diet if there is not enough algae growth in the aquarium

II. You would love the fish because…

Starfish is an Echinoderm and often referred to as “Sea Stars”, and is frequently spotted in shallow waters, so there’s always good possibility you’ll see one while doing some personal rock pooling on a day at the beach.

Starfish may appear to be straightforward creatures, but these fascinating organisms have hidden layers.

Starfish neither have blood or a brain. In reality, they pump nutrients through their nervous system using purified sea water.

Despite their little appearance, starfish can weigh up to an astonishing 11 lbs.

You can only find starfish in the ocean as they can only survive in salt water.

They turn inside to go out to eat: Clams, shells, and mussels are among the foods that starfish enjoy eating. When they catch their meal, they use tiny suction cups to cling on to it. When they eat, their stomachs leave their mouths to begin the process of digestion before returning to the body once they are done.

III. Is this fish species peaceful or hostile?

Peaceful and very timid.
