Red Platy is a serene freshwater fish that is hardy and active.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It is small, beautiful, and a terrific fish for any level of enthusiast; in fact, it’s one of the most popular in the fishkeeping industry.<\/span><\/p>\n

Platies come in a variety of colors, creating a spectacular aquarium.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The platy’s existence is divided into two parts: eating and breeding. They will circle the tank eating anything, including algae, and will not stop reproducing. Platies, like guppies, are live-bearing fish.<\/span><\/p>\n

Red Platy fish are brilliant red. Females can grow to be 3 inches tall, while males can only grow to be 2 inches tall. Water pH should be between 7.0 and 8.2 and water temperature should be between 70\u00b0F and 77\u00b0F to keep these fish in captivity.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The tank should be densely planted, with plenty of open space for swimming and floating vegetation.<\/span><\/p>\n

They are docile and can be kept in community aquariums with like peaceful fish; they should also be kept in groups with more females than males. A 10-gallon tank is a bare minimum for a group of five.<\/span><\/p>\n

Different platy kinds are similar in size and shape but come in a variety of color combinations. Salt and pepper platies are naturally black and white; tuxedo and “Mickey Mouse” platies have distinctive characteristics that are reflected by their names. Red wagtails are trapezoidal, with an orange-red body and black fins, like many platies.<\/span><\/p>\n

Platies in the wild are often brown and yellow with dark dots, though the color varies according to the body of water from whence they came. Wild platies, on the other hand, are frequently less stunning than their crossbred, captive cousins.<\/span><\/p>\n
