Black Neon Tetra: Black Freshwater neon tetras are a beautiful and low-maintenance fish that all aquarists should take into consideration.

They are simple to maintain, have a distinctive appearance, and get along with just about any other freshwater tank mates.

Similar in appearance but much darker is the Black Neon Tetra (scientific name: Hyphessobrycon herbertaxelrodi).

These freshwater fish, which are thought regarded as the Neon Tetra’s darker relative, are equally stunning and simple to take care of!

Black Neon Tetras originate in Brazil’s Paraguay Basin. There are many hundred kilometres in their natural environment.

Small tributaries, floodplains, and rivers that pass through heavily forested areas are where you can find the fish.

The Paraguay basin in southern Brazil is the natural habitat of the black neon tetra. In the natural, these fish favour sandbanks, creeks, swampy areas of forest, and small torrents.

Their native environment is typically quite acidic, and the tannins released by decomposing organic matter cause the water.
