Albino Pacu: The Characin family’s Serrasalminae subfamily includes Albino Pacu. The family of fish most commonly found in South America and Africa known as the Characins is also referred to as the Tetras.

Pacu and its closely related relative, the Piranha, are members of the Serrasalminae subfamily of Tetras. These South American fish resemble one another greatly in terms of both look and behaviour.

The Pacu is a magnificently patterned “gentle giant” that is only fit for the largest private aquariums, indoor ponds, or public exhibitions.

It is one of the bigger fish in the Amazon Basin and an essential food fish across most of its habitat.

This fish is an opportunistic grazer that lives in the wild. It typically feeds on fruit and nuts that have fallen from trees that overhang the habitat at the side of rivers where it is most often seen.

They are a hardy species that can tolerate a variety of water conditions, but because of their enormous size and enormous hunger, they will need intensive filtration and frequent water changes.

In the aquarium, the Albino Pacu will eat nearly any frozen or prepared food, but it is best to provide it with a diversified diet rich in vegetables.

Interesting fact:They have square, straight, molar-like teeth like human teeth, thus can cause a strong bite.
