Sucatio – Turbo Algae Eater: The freshwater ray-finned fish Psilorhynchus sucatio, often known as the river stone carp or sucatio minnow, is a species of torrent minnow.
One of the colloquial names for this species, sukati, is translated into Latin as the specific name.[/3] This species is extensively spread and can be found in the Indian states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal, as well as in Bangladesh and Nepal.
P. sucatio is found in swift-moving water, with a preference for the margins of sandy streams.
It is an altitudinal migratory found in abundance in the lowlands close to emergent or overhanging plants.
Fisheries are not interested in it since it is very little, with a maximum length of 5 cm, although it is gathered for the aquarium trade.
