The Pseudotropheus Ice Blue fish, also known as the “Ice Blue Zebra Cichlid,” is a species of freshwater fish that originates from Lake Malawi in Africa. As their name suggests, these fish have a striking blue coloration, with a metallic shimmer that makes them appear as if they are covered in ice.
The William’s Mbuna, also known as the Red Top Ice Blue Zebra, is a fish that belongs to the Mbuna genus. Since these fish love rocky surroundings, any setup should have plenty of places for them to construct nests and territories. Although not particularly aggressive, it will not accept other fish with similar colours or even males of the same species. Given that Mbuna have similar behaviour and food requirements, it is best maintained with other Mbuna. The male becomes extremely gorgeous when its dorsal fin turns orange and its body turns icy blue. Females have more pronounced vertical stripes and a brownish colour.

II. You would love the fish because…
The males of the species are typically larger and more brightly colored than the females, with longer fins and a more intense blue color. They can grow up to 5 inches in length and are relatively aggressive, making them unsuitable for community tanks with other peaceful fish.
Pseudotropheus Ice Blue fish require a well-maintained aquarium with plenty of hiding places and caves for them to retreat to. They are best kept in a species-only tank or with other similarly sized and aggressive cichlids. They are omnivorous and should be fed a balanced diet of both plant and animal-based foods.
