Pasaki Rainbow: Pseudomugil paskai is a tiny, slender-bodied species that rarely grows larger than 35 mm in length. Two very close dorsal fins, the first significantly smaller than the second. Males have bluish ventral and yellowish above the mid-lateral line semi-translucent bodies with narrow dark scale outlines.
The fins are translucent in general, with white or yellow borders and scattered oval black dots. The caudal fin’s lobes feature white, yellow, or reddish tips. Pelvic fins are yellowish and have extended anterior rays. Females lack markings on their fins and lack the colors seen in males.
In the wild, the Paskai Rainbowfish congregates in big schools in regions with lush vegetation. It’s a good nano fish for a planted aquarium. Males’ bodies and fins have a vivid neon orange to blue color.
Females, on the other hand, have shorter fins and less brilliant coloring. They are peaceful fish that should be kept in groups of six or more. Darker substrate results in better colors as well.
