Medium Bubble Tip Anemone

One of the most popular anemone species in the aquarium industry is the Bubble Tip Anemone (Entacmaea quadricolor), often known as bubble anemone, bulb anemone, or simply BTA.

The Indo-Pacific region, which includes the Indian Ocean, Fiji, Tonga, and the Red Sea, is home to this species.

There, it is typically found adhering to coral rubble or in crevices of solid reefs.

They frequently coexist alongside a variety of clownfishes, such as Amphiprion melanopus, Amphiprion frenatus, Amphiprion chrysopterus, and Premnas biaculeatus.

The Bulb or Bubble Tip Anemone is an excellent choice for hosting with clownfish because it is a medium-sized (up to 12′′) rock-dwelling anemone.

They thrive in reef tanks that are brightly lit, have crystal-clear water, and are regularly fed meaty items.

Due of their high mobility, these anemones can readily “walk” into overflow containers and pumps.

From one person to the next, the BTA might look very differently. It comes in a variety of patterns and hues, including tan, orange, brown, red, pink, maroon, and green.

While examples of other colours are colonial and typically located at the water’s surface where there is abundant light, green and brown individuals are typically found deep inside the water and are solitary. Deep sea examples can grow to a diameter of 20 inches, whereas mature specimens from shallow seas typically have a diameter of 12 inches (30 cm) (50 cm).

Certain Bubble Tips Some anemones have bubble tips, some don’t, and some of the same species mix smooth and bulb points. Some will rarely bubble, while others will constantly have large bubbles. This is entirely typical. There are numerous theories about this matter, but none of them have been validated. Some assert that bubble tips may form as a result of feeding, while others believe that anemonefish must be present or that light intensity may be important.

V. How to feed this species?

They take up nutrients from the water and eat waste produced by symbiotic clownfish species. It should be fed chopped silversides, shrimp, worms, krill, mussels, fresh chopped fish, and frozen carnivore preparations while it is in captivity.
