Ludwigia palustris “Green” The Ludwigia palustris is found in floodplains and is native to extensive regions of North to South America, Eurasia, and Africa. In Western and Central Europe, it is now extremely uncommon. Its terrestrial shoots spread out in a creeping motion, while its submerged ones rise to float.
The Ludwigia palustris “Green” is a light-loving and moderately demanding plant. A total full-scale and micronutrient supply and COâ‚‚ expansion are exceptionally valuable for its development. It can withstand temperatures as low as 10 °C and as high as 28 °C, but its maximum temperature is between 22 and 26 °C. Cuttings are an easy way to propagate it, just like with other stem plants.
This light to medium-green stem plant with rather small leaves looks best as a bush in the middle of the ground. It can be used in conjunction with the forms L. palustris “Red” and “Super Red” to create various color gradations in the aquarium. Wabi-Kusa, paludariums, and well-lit cold water tanks are all good uses for the “Green” Ludwigia palustris.
