Ludwigia glandulosa features stems with lanceolate leaves that range from green to reddish-brown in coloration. The undersides of the leaves often have a reddish hue. Under high light and nutrient-rich conditions, the plant exhibits intense red coloration throughout its foliage, making it a striking addition to aquariums.

Native to Central and North America, Ludwigia glandulosa is typically found growing in wetlands, marshes, and along the margins of streams and rivers. It is an adaptable plant that can grow both emersed and submerged.

This plant is relatively easy to grow in aquariums. It thrives in moderate to high lighting conditions and benefits from the addition of CO2 supplementation. While it can tolerate a wide range of water parameters, it tends to exhibit more intense coloration and faster growth rates in nutrient-rich water.

1. Ludwigia glandulosa prefers slightly acidic to neutral water with a pH range of 6.0 to 7.5. It does well in temperatures between 68°F to 82°F (20°C to 28°C). Regular water changes and adequate filtration are essential for maintaining water quality.
