Lilaeopsis Brasiliensis is commonly called Brazillian Grass. This Brazilian micro sword (Lilaeopsis brasiliensis) is a short-stemmed aquarium plant that can be cultivated as a carpet. It grows both fully submerged and partially submerged on the banks of rivers and streams throughout much of Brazil.
In a home aquarium, it can reach a maximum size of 3 inches (7.5 cm) and build a dense and attractive carpet if given the appropriate mix of CO₂, nutrition, and illumination. This is a challenging plant to grow and should only be attempted by aquarists with prior experience with aquatic plants.
Care Tips
- Should only be cultivated in a nutrient-rich substrate when planted.
- T5 or T8 fluorescent lights should be provided, while some people have claimed success with modern LED lights.
