Kuhli Loach

Kuhli Loach is a freshwater fish of the Cobitidae family. In recent decades Kuhli loaches have become a great deal of interest.

They are a phenomenal choice for beginners and experts.

They are very undemanding fun to watch and very peaceful in the tank. It is a great cleaner, thus making them the most sought-after fish for home aquariums.

The Kulhi loach otherwise called coolie loach, khuli loach, and prickly eye are bottom-dwelling fish that loves to burrow in sand and also look out for hiding places in your tank. Kulhi loaches are very active at the night and remain hiding during the day.

They originate from Southeast Asia, streams of Borneo, Java, western Malaysia, Singapore, Sumatra, and Thailand.

Initially named Cobitis Kuhli, and later different to Acanthophthalmus Kuhli, the ongoing logical name of this fish is Pangio Kuhli. Many references use previous logical names.

II. You would love the fish because…

Kuhli loaches have an eel-like body that is yellow to pink in color, with many dark brown stripes that to some extent or completely circle the body.

The body and stripe variety designs change given subspecies.

The Kuhli loach has no horizontal line, the fins are little, and the dorsal balance is situated on the lower third of the body, a lot nearer to the tail than the head.

The eye of the Kuhli is covered by a very thin layer of skin and is concealed under one of the dark bands. Below the eyes are a couple of sharp spines that ascent if the fish is threatened, making it hard for a hunter to swallow them or for a proprietor to net them; take exceptional consideration while doing as such.

The mouth of the Kuhli loach focuses on descending and is encircled by four sets of barbels.

Kuhli is considered the happiest when kept with other loaches and non-aggressive fish.

They would prefer sinking food like pellets, Repashy gel food, frozen bloodworms, and live blackworms. They should be fed at night when the lights are out.
