Golden Algae Eaters is a semi-aggressive fish. They get along with the vast majority of other fish in a communal tank when kept as solitary fish, especially when young.

They can, however, be hostile toward fish with similar shapes, such as Silver Sharks and Red-Tailed Sharks. They shouldn’t be kept in the same tank as giant, slow-moving tank mates since they’ll chase them. Angelfish and Discus fish are two examples of them.
