The Ember Tetra (Hyphessobrycon amandae), a small freshwater fish of the Characidae family, is indigenous to the slow-moving rivers of Central-Western Brazil. It is also known as the Fire Tetra.

They belong to the Characiformes order, which is one of the most varied (which has almost over 2000 fish across 19 families). They rank high among the species with the most striking appearances.

The Mato Grosso State in Central Brazil is the original location of the recently reported species known as the Ember Tetra.

Due to their vibrant look, these fish are particularly well-liked by fish keepers.

Ember Tetras can easily be recognized by their bright, fiery look, even though Characiformes classification is difficult for the majority of fish.

The Ember Tetra’s color is nearly orange-red, and no matter where on its body it appears, it always appears dazzling. They have an unmistakable sharp appearance as a result of this!

Their tall, slender dorsal fins have a gradient going from their main color to a somewhat darker shade in the back. At the extreme edge of the fin, this darker region changes into a part that is just a little transparent.

Their dorsal fins have a more gradual color change than their caudal fins, which are forked. The color of their body extends to the very base of the fin (sometimes even brighter). After then, it changes fast into a darker orange until turning almost entirely transparent. The back half of their caudal fin is made up of this transparent section.
