Cryptocoryne lucens is a lovely compact Crypt with green blade-like leaves that is used as a midground plant that grows in hard water. In comparison to Crypt Parva, it is significantly larger and has slightly longer blades. It is the second smallest Crypt in the market today.
The slender leaves are bright green with brown stems and when grown in large groups can resemble tall reeds of thick grass. If grown in good aquarium substrate such as Contro soil, Cryptocoryne lucens can feed through the roots and grow quickly without the need for high light, CO₂, or fertilizer dosing.
Propagation can be done by splitting the rhizome or cutting off new growth and replanting. The plant prefers not to be moved once planted. Crypts can be either emersed or submerged.
Cryptocoryne lucens is truly the best option for those who want zero pests, algae, and pesticides. This makes them perfect for shrimp keepers and any planted tank enthusiasts alike.
