Females are silvery, while males are brilliant blue and brown. To keep these fish in captivity, the water temperature should be regulated between 77 °F and 8.6 pH.Â
The aquarium should be spacious, with a sandy floor and a variety of rocks and caverns.
They are fairly aggressive with their conspecifics, even females, and will also be aggressive with species that are the same size and color as them, therefore maintaining them in a community aquarium only if their tankmates are extremely different from them.
