Blue Dolphin Cichlid: Cyrtocara moorii is the Latin name for the Blue Dolphin Cichlid. Its natural habitat is the sand dunes of Africa’s Lake Malawi. The Blue Dolphin has colors that range from turquoise to a dark silvery blue, and it has six vertical stripes that can be hard to tell apart. Typically, the male is a brighter shade of blue than the female.

The Blue Dolphin Cichlid’s most distinctive feature is the male species’ cranial bump on their forehead. It grows slowly but can reach 12 inches at maturity. The minimum size of the aquarium should be 48 gallons, but this can be increased as the fish get bigger.
