Neon Blood Fin Tetra
Description
Neon Bloodfin Tetra (Hyphessobrycon erythrostigma), also known as the Red-Blue Columbian Tetra, is a small, peaceful freshwater fish that belongs to the Characidae family. It is a popular choice among aquarium hobbyists due to its vibrant colors and ease of care.
The Neon Bloodfin Tetra has a slender, elongated body with an iridescent silver coloration. It is named for the striking red and blue markings that run horizontally along its body, especially visible on its fins.
This species typically grows to about 1.5 inches (3-4 centimeters) in length, making it a relatively small fish.
Neon Bloodfin Tetras are best kept in groups of at least six individuals. They require a well-maintained aquarium of at least 10 gallons (38 liters) or more, depending on the number of fish. Provide a planted tank with plenty of hiding places and open swimming space. A dimly lit tank with a dark substrate can enhance their colors.
They prefer soft to slightly acidic water conditions with a pH ranging from 6.0 to 7.5. The temperature should be kept between 72 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit
