Description

Molly - Mixed Colours (White/Black/ Orange): The molly fish is a Poeciliidae family freshwater fish. Molly fish are classified into various species, including black molly fish, sailfin molly fish, Dalmatian molly fish, balloon molly fish, and lyretail molly fish.

Mollies are available in a variety of hues such as black, white, silver, red, and orange.

Molly- Mixed fish can be found throughout Central America, such as in Mexico, and the southern United States.

Mollies flourish in freshwater conditions, but they are also found in saline areas such as lagoons and brackish ditches. Some mollies dwell and breed in shallow marine habitats, including ports and seas around mangrove roots.

Mollies can be found in the wild. Colorful molly fish species are bred in captivity, while wild molly fish is a dull, silvery-gray tint.

II. You would love the fish because…

Mollies are one of the most popular aquarium fish, and most people have had at least one of these gentle and gorgeous live bearers in their fish tank at some point. Most people are under the impression that there is only one kind of molly accessible in fish stores, yet there are three distinct species available in the aquarium trade. However, most of the mollies accessible now are so badly hybridized that it would be hard to tell which species they came from.

Molly fish are available in a wide range of colors, tail forms, and patterns. Mollies are typically between 3.5 and 4.5 inches long, having flattened bodies and small fins.

Mollies are gentle fish that rarely show violence when housed in a non-stressful tank environment with non-hostile tank mates.

Male and female mollies each have their distinct characteristics. The anal fin of a male common molly, for example, is long and points backward, but the anal fin of a female common molly points down.

Males have bolder and brighter colors than females in most molly fish species. Stress causes mollies to fade in color, and some molly fish darken or change color or pattern as they age.

III. Is this fish species peaceful or hostile?

Mollies are peaceful fish.

IV. Species compatibility

Guppies and Platies, Tank raised Tetras and Barbs, Danios, and even African cichlids.

V. How to feed this species?

Mollies are omnivores in the wild, feeding on tiny invertebrates, algae, and plant detritus. They should be fed a good-grade flake meal and a variety of vegetables in the home aquarium. Hikari Micro Wafers are one of the greatest prepared foods you can feed them.
