Description

Glass Blood Fin Tetra also known as Prionobrama Filigera, is an aquarium fish that is both quiet and active. When you add this to your community tank, you will be pleased to

watching them roaming the area and eating the food you provide.

The transparent body, deep red tail, and red fins of this rare species are distinctive. It is ideal for planted and community aquariums due to its adaptability.

The Glass Bloodfin Tetra is usually found in the middle and lower levels of the water column, but they often live in the upper and middle levels. As a result, it's always a good idea to decorate your aquascape from the bottom up.

It stands out from other tetras in terms of color and appearance. Adult fish can live up to ten years and reach a length of 5.51 cm with proper care. The level of care required for these tranquil fish is sufficient for an aquarium hobbyist just starting out.

However, the fact that this fantastic fish can be friendly to other species and even invertebrates is what I like most about it.

I. Size

  • Average Adult Size:  2 inches (6cm)
  • Maximum Adult Size: 2 inches (6cm)
  • Swimming Level: middle and top of the tank

II. You would love the fish because...

The Glass Bloodfin Tetra's body is so transparent that the skeleton's lines are visible. Additionally, they have a splash of blue running down the sides of their bodies and a bright red tail.

Tetras do best when kept in large groups of six or more, but different species can usually be kept together without much trouble.

Tetras are also easy to mix with other fish species and make good community fish. However, because many tetras are small, it is not a good idea to mix them with Oscars or other fish that grow big. It can be difficult to sex fish because many species do not show any sexual dimorphism at all, making it difficult for some species to eat aquatic plants.

Females carrying eggs frequently resemble fish with a distended abdominal region, as is typical of most species. However, in some species, male and female can be distinguished by differences in size, longer fins, and more intricate colors or patterns.
