Description

Gardneri Killi Fish - "Killy," is a dutch word which means a ditch or canalis. This fish is also referred to as the Steel Blue Killifish or Blue Lyretail.

They are frequently found in shallow waters like waterholes, streams, and marshes, as their name suggests.

Killifish typically do not grow very large because they are adapted to these shallow water bodies.

Gardneri Killifish are tiny fish that can only reach 2.5 inches in length. Despite their diminutive size, they are distinguished by their striking coloration and patterning. They have red spots covering their blue-green body.

The Killifish was first caught by R. D. Gardner in 1911, and it was discovered in a Nigerian river tributary and given its name in part. They were sold as ornamental fish two years later. Since they are beautiful fish that can live in small spaces, this was an obvious move.
