Description

Albino Paradise Gourami is the Southeast Asian equivalent of the Paradise Fish. It is located in China's eastern part, between the Yangtze River and the Pearl River Basin. It can also be found in Hong Kong and on Hainan Island.

The labyrinth fish group has this albino form. Labyrinth fish have gills, but they also have a special organ that lets them breathe out of the air directly. As a consequence of this, they would rather have access to the aquarium's water surface. Similar to a Betta, the tail and fins appear to be made of feathers.

II. You would love the fish because…

The paradise fish, which are typically kept in the home aquarium, is a collective term for three distinct species. Although their tails have distinct shapes, they share very similar features. The tail of Macropodus opercularis is forked; The tail of Macropodus chinensis is rounded; Additionally, the pointed tail of Macropodus cupanus has a number of rays that extend from its center.
Each of the three species has brightly colored bands that change how they look depending on how the light hits them. These bands alternate between orange or red and blue or green. Over the fish's body, there are also a lot of tiny black or metallic blue dots. The ventral fins of all three species are always orange.
There are two genetically modified varieties in captivity. A commercial breeder in Germany created an albino variety in 1933, which is known as the albino macropodus. It has white, pink, and blue stripes as well as pink eyes. The other strain is known as the "concolor" variety, and it is a darker variety.

III. Is this fish species peaceful or hostile?

V. How to feed this species?
